Scholarship and Application

This scholarship may be awarded annually to a Tasmanian Lay Preacher in Training.  The maximum amount awarded shall be the cost of one unit, offered by Coolamon College, or College accepted by the Lay Preachers Committee of Tasmania.  This will contribute toward accreditation as a Lay Preacher of the Uniting Church.

 A candidate shall  be eligible for the Scholarship only if they;  

•  meet the standards for entry into the Coolamon College program or the equivalent centre of higher learning

•  have shown creditable proficiency in at least one of the subjects leading towards accreditation as a Lay   Preacher.

The selection of the successful applicant, if any, will be made by the executive of the UCA Lay Preachers Association of Tasmania.  The Lay Preachers Association reserves the right not to make an award if in the opinion of the Association Executive, no candidate meets the required standard. The applicant, in their written application, must address each of the criteria listed above..

 The closing date for application for this Scholarship is 15th.April in any year.  Applications are to be sent directly to the Secretary of the Association; Vic Malham, C/- Post Office, MIDDLETON  7163.

 This scholarship will be presented at the annual  Lay Preachers Conference
