The Lay Preachers' Association of Tasmania
exists to:-
-
provide mutual support and encouragement for those
exercising the ministry of Lay Preaching in the Uniting Church.

encourage lay people within the Church to participate
in the proclamation of the Gospel and in witnessing to the faith and love
of God in Jesus Christ.
-
support the continual equipping and nurturing of
people in the ministry of
Lay Preaching through in-service education and
continuing education.
-
represent the concerns and interests of Lay Preachers
within the life of the Church.

work in conjunction with the Education for Ministry
Commission and the Lay Preachers Committee of the Commission
Membership to
the Association is open to:
-
accredited and recognised Lay Preachers;
-
Lay Preachers in Training;
-
Other members of the Uniting Church who appear on preaching plans of Uniting Church congregations.
The Lay Preachers' Association

holds an annual conference which is the governing
body of the Association
it is the normally held in May of
each year

publishes a quarterly newsletter,
